I became a teacher first by chance and then by choice. I remember my chance encounter with by Junior college teacher and subsequent invitation to speak at the Orientation of the new batch. This interaction with these young minds triggered in me a quest to explore teaching as a profession, and as if destiny has already being defined, quite by chance next day morning, I saw an advertisement in the local newspaper for an open position at Vidyalankar.

It was never easy and often exhausting for me to adjust to the new routine after a successful stint of more than 10 years with leading companies in the BFSI space, but meeting the combined challenges of dealing with the daily behavioral emergencies and providing a good educational experience for the students seemed to be important work. The passion in me to put in a meaningful contribution to impact the life’s of the learners motivated me to stay on rather hang on for the initial couple of years.

Slowly I started to enjoy my routine as I relived my College days which I missed during my younger days due to me being involved in my father’s business. The best part of my job I feel is the opportunity to engage with young minds and know their perspective.

Being an avid cricket fan, cricket has always been an hobby and what better than it being done as part of your daily routine, the most interesting part of my job is an opportunity to spend some time on the flied with students, this not only helps me to engage in my hobby but also provides an opportunity to open up with students and be friend with them.

Being an Industry person that too with a background in selling role, meeting people is what I love the most, I always thought being a teacher will limit my movement and I will have to give up on the most important aspect of my personality of making new friends. Surprisingly I not only continued meeting people but also developed new friends by the virtue of me being given an opportunity to be a part of the Training & Placement cell.

What started as a chance has now become an integral part of my live as I not only earn a respectful living for my family but also have an opportunity to explore the areas of my interest and live my passion
