I was born in Mumbai and for schooling I used to say I wanted to attend the same school as my elder sister did, so my parents took admission to the same school, A.M.K. Premier High School, Mumbai. During my school days, I participated and won various elocution competition, essay competition, and inter school quiz contest. I was awarded the best outgoing student award on completion of my secondary schooling. For my Higher Secondary School, I again decided to follow my elder sister and took admission in Science Stream at the same junior college, G.N. Khalsa College, Mumbai as my elder sister did.
At this same time, my father decided to relocate to the USA. So, I moved to the USA with my parents and enrolled myself in the local university near my house, Cameron University, Oklahoma for BBA (Finance) degree course. During my days at Cameron University, I won various awards such as Freshman English Composition Student Award and Business Case Competition Award. During my final year at the University, I was awarded Lawrence Memorial and Reginal Brown scholarships for being an outstanding business administration student at Cameron University. I graduated with honors of summa cum laude with a perfect grade point average (4 out of 4). I was inducted in Honor Societies of Phi Kappa Phi and Delta Mu Delta for outstanding academic achievements at Cameron University.
I decided to move to India after my graduation and started working in General Insurance Sector in Mumbai. I worked in various profiles such as centralized operations, branch operations, and underwriting. But after working for some time, I decided to enroll myself for a Master of Commerce degree at Vidyalankar School of Information Technology. During my college days at VSIT, I was awarded various awards on Scholar’s Day for securing highest marks in corporate finance, debt market, project work, and securing first position in M.Com Semester IV examination. During my college days at VSIT, my professors motivated me to appear for UGC NET Exam and to take my studies further by pursing a PhD.
But even before graduating with a M.Com degree, I landed a job at Life Insurance Sector in Mumbai as a Deputy Manager but qualifying for the UGC NET exam and to take my studies further was always on my mind. So, after working for some time in the Life Insurance Sector, I took a career break and appeared for UGC NET Exam in Commerce, which I qualified in my first attempt. After clearing my UGC NET Exam, I joined VSIT. After joining VSIT, I have published various insurance research articles in UGC care listed journal of Insurance Institute of India and BimaQuest. I am looking forward to pursuing my PhD in Business Economics.
