MY LIFE

An Assistant Professor with a foundation in English Literature, specializing in American Literature, my academic journey has been shaped by an enduring engagement with language, storytelling, and human expression.

A quiet afternoon on the balcony, often accompanied by simple comforts like a plate of freshly sliced mangoes, continues to evoke memories of childhood summers filled with travel, warmth, and togetherness. Growing up in a family where my father served the nation, frequent journeys exposed me to diverse cultures and perspectives, gradually shaping both my imagination and aspirations.

In contrast to my present role, I was once a reserved and introspective child, hesitant to initiate conversations despite belonging to a family of strong and independent women. However, this quiet disposition coexisted with a deep curiosity and determination to pursue what fascinated me. My mother instilled in me the courage to act rather than regret, while my father encouraged me to dream expansively. Together, they created an environment that nurtured both resilience and ambition.

Reading became my refuge and my awakening. Books opened doors to imaginative worlds and helped me understand creativity as a lived experience rather than an abstract idea. Choosing English Literature as my field of study, especially within a family rooted in engineering, required conviction and perseverance. This decision marked a transformative phase, fostering not only intellectual growth but also a desire to communicate ideas, experiences, and observations meaningfully.

Driven by this passion, I entered the field of education in 2008—a decision that has remained deeply fulfilling. Over the years, I have come to appreciate that teaching extends far beyond classroom instruction; it is a dynamic interplay of mentorship, communication, and continuous learning. Since joining Vidyalankar School of Information Technology in 2015, I have been engaged in teaching Communication and Management subjects, experiences that have significantly broadened my academic and professional perspective.

As a faculty member in Communication and Media, I have actively contributed to training sessions, academic initiatives, and institutional activities for both students and faculty. My interests extend to anchoring events and writing for publications, reflecting my commitment to expression in multiple forms. I strongly believe that effective communication plays a crucial role in shaping personality and professional identity.

In recent years, my engagement with evolving pedagogical approaches, particularly in online education, has reinforced my belief that learning must continuously adapt to changing contexts. The integration of digital platforms has expanded opportunities for both educators and learners, encouraging innovation and redefining traditional teaching practices.

Teaching, indeed, is an art—one that I continue to practice with dedication, creativity, and a commitment to inspiring young minds.
