Ayurveda, one of the world's oldest continuously practiced medical systems, classified body types and promoted personalized treatment thousands of years before modern medicine.
The Centre of Excellence in Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS CoE) at Vidyalankar Schoolof Information Technology (VSIT), Mumbai, is dedicated to exploring, preserving, and promoting India’s rich knowledge traditions through interdisciplinary education, research, and outreach. The Centre seeks to bridge the timeless wisdom of Indian Knowledge Systems with contemporary fields such as information technology, management, commerce, and media by fostering experiential learning, innovation, and academic dialogue. Through exhibitions, workshops, heritage initiatives, competitions, expert lectures, and collaborative projects, the IKS CoE inspires students to discover the relevance of India’s intellectual heritage in addressing contemporary challenges and contributing to a sustainable and culturally rooted future.
