MY LIFE

I was born in a small town of Odisha. My father was in Army, so we had the privilege to visit different places like Hyderabad, Jhansi, Kashmir and many more. After his retirement, we moved to Odisha and completed my education till my Maters Degree.

I was actually born to become a teacher. I used to role play to be the teacher from my childhood. I had all my dolls and brothers and sisters lined up around me like students. I used to teach my friend as well. My hobbies are reading, coin collection, sewing and knitting.

I passed with Distinction in my Post graduation and completed my M. Phil Computer Science degree. I also worked hard to clear the UGC NET Examination. I was University Topper in my Graduation in Chemistry Honors’ from Berhampur University, Odisha. I received scholarship for my MCA from the Government of Odisha.

After completing my studies, I got married and shifted to Mumbai. In Mumbai, I worked as a lecturer in different colleges across Mumbai. In the year 2007, I joined Vidyalankar School of Information Technology as an Assistant Professor for B. Sc.IT and MSc IT Courses.

As a teacher, I participated in many educational trainings and fulfilled all the commitments. I planned and executed various activities like guest lecture, industrial visits, pop quizzes, problem-based learning, group activities and many more. I try to incorporate latest developments in technology into the classroom too. I had initiated many revenue generation activities for the institution.

I believe every experience along the way results into some contribution and learning. I am involved in students’ lives in different ways. My commitment to students does not stop in the classroom itself, it rather carries over into students’ extracurricular activities and into the community as well, and this helps me to create stronger and deeper connections with students. I was also invited as a resource person to different organizations.

I am a believer of strong and lasting relationships with people. During my journey, I met many influencers like Dr. Suresh Shan, Dr. Radhakrishnan Pillai, Mr. Arvind Prabhu, Mr. Nigel and more. I learnt humbleness, to have quest for knowledge and be innovative from these personalities. Industrial visits contributed to understand recent technologies that are used in industries.

As part of Final Year Project Quality Assurance Committee, under the expert guidance of Mr. Makarand Deshpande, I conducted various activities. I coordinate with teachers in my cluster to find their strength and assign task accordingly. As a member of NAAC team, I explored Criteria II, and completed the responsibilities assigned.

To sum it all, I would be happy to take up any responsibility assigned to me because I can bring energy, ideas and insight to it.
