“Knowledge is a path , not an end … Focus on the learning not on the outcomes”
I am Riddhi Gada Satra, Assistant Professor at VSIT and happy to be part of Banking and Insurance department.
I was raised in a huge joint family of 17 members, but being the only child of my parents and the first child to the family, I was always pampered. I belong to a middle class family and my father always wanted to give me the best in terms of everything and so I was fortunate enough to get everything without even asking for it. Education has always been a family objective. It makes me delighted to mention that we never had anything of gender discrimination existing in the family , have been given equal access to power, resources and opportunities.and always was treated with dignity, respect and fairness. My father always said ‘you are my pride’, and hence always got a chance to put forth my views in every situation keeping aside my age, my decisions were always respected and given importance. Whatever I am today is because of the three precious jewels of my life: my Mother, Father and My Husband . I cant thank my parents enough for all that they have done for me, for the upbringing they gave me, and hence can proudly say it reflects in my personality. My husband has been the strongest pillar by always being by my side in all my decisions in life first as a friend and then by being my better half.
Teaching goes along best with my personality, ever since my degree college days, I loved to teach my friends during group studies, and realized relatively early in life that I have a keen interest in teaching, problem-solving, helping others and being a mentor, so converted my passion into profession. My journey in Teaching started 9 years ago when I was still an undergraduate. Initially I began with giving tuitions to school students and then formalized by Teaching by joining “Vivekanand Education Society’s College of Arts, Science and Commerce in and later at Ramnarain Ruia College. Finally my new journey began when I joined Vidyalankar , in June 2022. I now have the opportunity to learn and share my experience with thousands of students , build their career, improvise their skills, become better human beings and set an example to the society.
Also improving myself to be the best version of me. I see lot of opportunities for my growth and development at this prestigious institute. My hobby is cooking, exploring various cuisines and I love travelling. I have travelled to many places and wish to continue to do so in near future. I love to cook and have tried my hands at many dishes.
I always like to be the one who is an example to others and I am glad to have impacted a few lives till date and aspire to inspire many more in future. Teaching as a profession makes me fortunate enough to help students show them the path to reach their goals I am blessed to have inspiring teachers in my life and wish to be one like them. Pursuing my passion of teaching along with imparting knowledge and skills to a generation that plays an integral role in building the future of our country . As stated briefly, my passion is learning and transferring the learning to the needed set of target group that has the time & scope to make use and impact the society at large.
Being born in a family where both of my parents were doctors, I was expected to take up medicine as my career. So just like every middle class family my career was decided even before I could learn to speak. During my school and college days I was an above average student but when it came to giving my entrance test for medical somehow I could not manage to get admission in Mumbai and again due to family restrictions I could not go to Yavatmal where I managed secure an M.B.B.S seat. But life does not stop right? So I was expected to prepare for medical entrance one more time. I wished to go for Engineering and brought my admission form as well but was persuaded against it. So to not waste my year I was made to take admission to B.Sc. in the same college where I completed my HSc and that was a turning point for me.
During graduation I was lucky enough to be taught by teachers who inspired me not just to understand what I like but also to take a stand for what I like. So I decided to complete my education in Electronics even after getting B.D.S. seat in a college in Navi Mumbai after my second attempt of the medical entrance. This time I was persistent and confident enough to do what I like and was ready to take all the responsibility of that. So I continued my education while working part time as tutor, because if the choice is yours, so is its responsibility.
During my graduation I realized that, it is more important to know various opportunities around us than to be stuck with a single choice. Unlike our parents’ time, these days we have large number of opportunities, but we lack is proper guidance to explore them. Also one needs to make his own decisions and not just that should be able to work hard to achieve their goal. This thought inspired me to become a teacher and I did my Masters in Electronics and completed B.Ed. I wished to be the torch that today’s kids need in the world full of opportunities. I wanted to tell them that career does not end only because you missed one opportunity, but this also does not mean that we stop taking our career seriously. We can be more alert and grab the next opportunity that comes in our way and again make a comeback in the race of life. So what are we waiting for? ON YOUR MARK. GET-SET-AND GO….
