Library is the Heart of an educational Institution. Library is an Institution that exists to serve the information to the people. Our college library stimulates the students to obtain, evaluate and recognize knowledge and to familiarize oneself with the trends of knowledge for further education and learning new disciplines. The college provides abundant scope and opportunity to the students to read and learn a lot from a wide variety of Newspapers and Magazines are available in the Reading room.

Library Hour

The library reading room remains open from Monday to Saturday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. X Block library is open from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM for circulation and reference purposes.

Library Service

1.Library Orientation Programme for students: At the start of every semester the library conducts an orientation Programme for fresher as well as regular students to make students aware of library resources, facilities and services.

2.Library Membership: Library is having institutional membership with National Digital Library of India (NDLI) which is virtual repository which is coming with browse & search facility as well as act as host for learning community. Under VSIT NDLI club library is organizing different Educational and Literally activities.

3.Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC): With the help of OPAC facility students can check availability of titles across the library collection.

4.Book Bank: Library provides book bank facility for academic toppers and needy students to motivate students for academic excellence.

5.Current Awareness Service: The new arrival books display is conducted bimonthly to make user aware about new editions.

6.Indexing Service: Magazine and Journal content page is provided for user ready reference.

7.Computer and Wi fi Service: Library is well equipped with Wi-Fi facility and computers by which students can access e resources of library.

8.Inter Library Loan: VSIT library has signed MoU with St Xavier Autonomous college, whereby both the college can exchange the library resources and it will be beneficial for the students.

9.Best Library User Award: To inculcate reading habits and to promote library usage, the Best library user award is announced every year.

10.Library Feedback: Feedback is collected every semester from the students, with the help feedback analysis library service can be updated as per requirement of Library user.

Objectives of Committee:

  1. To develop collection of reading material as per the curriculum requirement.
  2. To provide full information support to college TLP.
  3. To provide various library services and facilities to the readers.
  4. To support research activity for its progress and qualitative development.
  5. To inculcate reading habits among library user.

Library Activities

The purpose of the Library Committee is to act as a channel of communication between the Institute Library and its users. It shall assist in developing operational procedures, suggest various measures for improvement and development of the library resources and formulate both personnel and fiscal policies. It shall strive to inculcate the enriching habit of reading in a technologically enabled and intellectual atmosphere.
