DEPARTMENT STRENGTH

The Department of Commerce in Banking and Insurance (BBI) is a full time Undergraduate qualification course spread for a long time set up in 2011. The advent of Market-Oriented methodology, Globalization, changes and Competitions in the Financial areas and the need to prepare planned banking and Insurance expert to confront the difficulties ahead, lead Our Institution to set up a specific course in Banking and Insurance. The primary point of the course is to make prepared experts who can deal with different budgetary exercises related with banking and protection segments.The main aim of the course is to create trained professionals who can handle various financial activities associated with banking and insurance sectors. The syllabi help the candidate to get an exposure to operational environment in Banking & Insurance. The prospectus helps the contender to get an introduction to operational condition in Banking and Insurance.

Banking and Insurance is one of the most significant career choices for students as it is generously compensated, Secure and High-Status Career. It furnishes the studies with hypothetical information as well as aides in intensive comprehension of viable utilization of the hypothesis. This course furnishes adequate presentation to the students with showcase changes, activities, and tasks to comprehend the elements of money in a superior manner.

BBI Department also conducts various workshops, Seminars, Guest Lectures, and Industrial visits for the students as well as faculty members, we also provide more exposure to the students, tries to expose students’ latent talent, and motivates them to think constructively. These activities help foster Teacher-Student connect for a better learning. Apart from this the department strives hard to train students for 100% employability of its students. It provides Communication and Information Technology Practical and using Computer Laboratories

Faculty members are passionate and curious individuals who continue their own research while teaching at VSIT. They come from various commerce specializations, the faculty members have interdisciplinary domains such as – Banking, Insurance, Accounts, Financial Markets Commerce, English Literature, and Information Technology, With them a diverse wealth of knowledge. The Faculty members are members of various Professional Bodies like INSc, ELTAI (English Language Teachers Association OF India), ACM (Association for Computer Machinery).

It gives me immense pleasure to lead the department of B. Com (Banking & Insurance). The primary focus of the department is to empower our students with overall development. We, the Team – BBI are working with the following objectives: nurture the students with multi-dimensional skill sets, focus on Outcome Based Education by innovative pedagogy, Industry-Academic interaction and doing live projects etc. Each student is focused through a Mentor – Mentee Scheme where students are emphasized for good academics, placements, and participation in co-curricular activities.

ELIGIBILITY

  1. A candidate for being eligible for admission to the Bachelor of Commerce (Banking & Insurance) degree course shall have passed XII std. Examination of the Maharashtra Board of Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent and secured not less than 45% marks in aggregate at first attempt (40% in case of reserved category).
  2. Every candidate admitted to the degree course in the constituent/affiliated college/recognized institution, conducting the course, shall have to register himself/herself with the University.

SIGNIFICANCE

B.Com (Banking & Insurance) program provides an avenue from general education to professional education. The three year (six semesters) BBI degree aims at:

  1. To provide students the theoretical concepts, which is required to understand and dissect financial and business problems.
  2. To equip students with practical applications needed for financial analysis in their given area of study.
  3. To develop leaders for the business, government, and educational communities.
  4. To lead the Young students to promote the highest standard of ethics, education, and professional excellence for the ultimate benefit of society with creative mind in the field of Banking and Insurance
